There can be no more appropriately named creature in nature than the beautiful demoiselle. Their iridescent, almost metallic, colourations a re a delight to behold. This male beautiful demoiselle (calopteryx virgo) was found at a little stream I came to refer to as ‘Demoiselle Corner’, as they are always abundant there during the summer. It’s a lovely, quiet valley, near St. Just in west Cornwall.
